Absent Student Work Holder

I measured the file folders and cut the palm tree material (that matches my beach theme) just a little bit larger to make pockets.  I sewed the pockets together and then sewed the pockets onto another piece of material (purple background).  The file folders, labeled with each child's name, fit perfectly.  I plan to hang it up in my classroom, possibly on the side of a file cabinet.  When a student is absent, all work and/or notices will be filed in his/her folder.  Upon return, they go to their folder and collect anything inside!  No more lost papers and sayings like, "I never got that paper because I was absent that day."
